Planing a 24-70, I just can't seem to decide if I can warrant spending the extra $1000 on the canon 24-70 II vs the tamron 24-70 VC for hobby use.

I really want to get the 8-15 fisheye zoom. Not sure I can really justify it, but what the hell! :D

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

I didn't plan for it, but ended with a Trinity, 24,50,135.... At all for about 250... Doesn't AF, but fantastic value and OK to very good optics. Hardly weighs anything, good range and OK for low light.

Canon 16-35L f4 although, I plan to review the Tamron 15-30MM F/2.8 DI VC first.

I've used both the Tamron 24-70 f2.8 VC and 70-200 f.2.8 VC. Both have excellent build quality and IQ.

I love the Canon, but the Tamron is very close. I used one for several weddings and events and I was totally satisfied.

Tamron has really stepped up their game . I don't think you'll be disappointed.
