omg haha.... i just spit coke all over myself on that one.

I was always told that if wedding pictures don't tell a story, you need to shoot something else. :D

The 5D3 sucks! I tried it this weekend, and it just ruined the entire shoot!

The burst speed was so slow, I was not happy.
QUOTED IMAGE

The camera captures all flares and just enhances them to the point of distraction.
QUOTED IMAGE

I wish I could go balls-out with the high ISO without fear of noise.

Sometimes I think you have to be a superhero to get the most out of the 5D3.

I wonder what kinda image quality the 7Dii is gonna have. Oh sorry, is that another thread?

:) :) :)

I thought it might be another thread, but those have been hijacked with personal attacks and the like.

I have been researching and it sounds like if by IQ you mean 'noise' then about 2 stops for SOOC (similar to Canon's recent efforts).

There are some raw files out there (Imaging Resource) and I just installed a trial of PhotoNinja which seems to read them. The camera profile seems reasonable to me.

So unless there is something messed up it looks like the same improvement in noise as going from 5DII to 5DIII - about 1/2 stop at high ISO (800-3200 I looked at). Not bad. Definitely better than 7D but not going to make 3200 useable if you were not going to shoot at 1600 with the 7D before. Essentially what most 'sensible' people probably expected.

As for DR, the jury still seems out on that one and the raws I downloaded are shot with slight, but enough differences in the deep shadows that I can't tell for sure. The IR raws are not shot with a scene which over-taxes DR either.

I hate waiting on UPS/FedEx trucks
I hate waiting on that first football game of the season
but most of all
I hate waiting on the end of November when the 7DMarkII will be shipped to my house.

Agreed! Even though I love my 6D, still impatient to play around with a new camera!

The waiting is the best part! Anticipation builds up, and you imagine it for something greater than it is. Once you get it, it's all down hill from there.

Yep, i dig that,
For some reason its been a long wait, bit when you will be shooting, everything will be behind, and of course at some point you will be waiting for the 7DmkIII.

What glass will you be using?

So the story is that the groom is 13 years old? ;)

Exactly right.
Research has shown that people are happiest just before a vacation. The planning and anticipation makes it a much more exciting endeavor than standing in line like a sheep for 2 hours to get on the space mountain ride... :D

I'm already tired of the 7D2 and is no longer on my wish/want list.

Too many threads killed it........ :(

The 7D2 has been announced, but not delivered yet, unless there is something I am not aware of. Since nobody has the camera in their hands to try out, all the threads killing it are just "know it alls" passing wind.

The anticipation's killing me...

First grandchild due mid-December and I'm looking forward to taking some great images with my 5D2 and 7D Classic. They lack nothing, just need a bit more care in the application.

Photo opportunities are so much more precious than gear, doncha think?

I almost had a nervous breakdown waiting for my 1DX. I probably single highhandedly took fedex's website offline that day from all the refreshing

the struggle is real
