A photographer not interested in shooting nudes or boudoir? You sir are a rare breed ;)

Jokes ahead, I just focus on myself and ignore most others. Occasionally nice to get inspiration and eye candy from others', but for the most part.. they can create whatever they want, and so will I.

so we have a local photography group with about 7200 members.

It may just be me but I am tired of seeing nothing but naked/half naked girls in the sand, on a kitchen counter, or with no background at all (solid color background).
On top of it being same boring photo, they decide to spice it up by wearing a tie....... A tie.

I feel like today people use sex to sell their pictures because their photography is honestly not good enough to do it.

Maybe I'm also just tired of models asking to shoot "boudoir" 24/7.

bla bla bla
/rant

yes, please post one of these annoying pics
naked with a tie?

I haven't minded nudes in ties since J. Aniston was on the cover of GQ.

And landscape photographers complain about people tsking the same shots of Antelope canyon snd horseshoe bend, or the same btidge. If you dont like what others shoot, dont associate with them.

It is a little unfortunate to see shots so similar to mine - and some I simply end up liking better than mine. However, I take the landscape shots for ME. I like to capture the scene and especially my non-local landscapes, it's a great opportunity for relive those places. I pretty much always have an interesting story (at least to me! :)) to tell along with each of my photographs... and I love that.

Well, have you ever noticed that in general it's far more easier to get a woman to stand in front fo a camera than a man? With the way our society developed and the views we hold in general, it's much more socially acceptable for a woman to be excited about dressing up and standing if front of a camera where as a guy that does so won't seem as masculine.

When we would put out model calls for the Strobist group, the ratio of men to women responders was always high in the women's favor.

Of course, it could depend on the group. I hear that Model Mayhem meet ups have a bunch of GWCs standing around a half naked female taking the same shot over and over again. :D

Oh, and a woman's clothing that one would wear to dress up for photos is naturally more revealing. Dress vs. a suit?

I actually had a model that asked me if I wanted to take nudes of her. I was kind of weirded out because it was a commercial job, and was off topic. I guess she was proud of her body and wanted to show it off, that's why it's popular to do among the model crowd.

Why don't you try photographing with an infrared converted camera and post your own shots. Maybe that'll inspire your group to photograph something uniquely different.

I much prefer a nude of any quality over the most common type of photo I see these days, the selfie.

Im convinced (even on this site) that I can take a picture with a random person in it and it get a 6/10 rating however if I take the SAME exact photo in every aspect except a naked/ half naked girl in it the photo would score an 8-9/10.

Ain't that the truth!

Nick, which group are you talking about? There are other photography groups here, just check out the groups on Meetup. I used to catch meetings/photowalks with "Picture This!", they would occasionally have workshops that would deal with either wedding, portrait, or fashion shooting; hosted by a member of the group. I never bothered to make one of those (not my thing) but it's certainly not "nudes, nudes, nudes" 24/7. (not that I'd have a problem with that  )

Neck ties, dark rimmed eye-glasses, high-heeled shoes, pierced belly button, tatoos...

Come on. Give these guys some credit for creativity. Hmm... maybe not.
