Yes I've bought a 1510 via eBay across the pond specifically because I was after a white one. It's been fine but came with no insert which I knew. So that was an additional cost.

I love my Pelicans, but I would never expect them to be allowed as carry-on. Even though they meet the requirements, some "feeder" airlines have smaller planes that can not accommodate a hard case of the 1510 size in the overhead or under the seat, while a soft case can be squished into that opening.

I've carried mine on lots of commercial planes. But your certainly right about them not fitting on smaller regional jets. However, the cool thing is that with a Pelican, it's easy to gate-check your bag and you can rest easy knowing there is no way they can damage your gear.

Simon,

I always love it when you post a picture of your white Pelican. It simply looks awesome!

I bought some there, wanted for panniers for my cycle. Went fine. I would assume you can find matching prices on the net if you're nervous about ebay.

I'm not too nervous, I do a bit of bidding and selling on there. Just wanted to know peoples thoughts since these are bigger items and with shipping could be difficult.

I don't see many on craigslist for my area, and my local dealer has it for quite a price.

Its perfectly safe to buy on E-Bay selling is not so good. Your bargain is going to come buying used. If
your looking for new use B&H Photo as a comparator. As far as used look for good photos of the item
and the sellers feedback. Always figure in the shipping costs this can kill what seems to be a good deal.
As far as as E-Bay if you have a legitimate cause they will side with you but you will pay return shipping
of the item.

P.S. BEWARE ALL PELICAN CASES SOLD ON E-BAY COME WITHOUT FOAM. My laugh of the day.
