I had the same nervous breakdown when our last child was born, and was in the NICU for a week due to a hole in her lung. It puts things into perspective a bit. ;)

I have been let down more than pleasantly surprised by techie items over the year, that tempers the anticipation a bit unfortunately. I would rather be excited for something than worried.

just reading this thread, are you serious when you say your 5D3 is no longer good enough???
and you are looking forward to the less expensive and (debate-ably) lower spec 7DII

???

No, it was all a bit of humor regarding the 5D3, and I poke fun at those that like to malign new releases before they have a chance to try it out.

I look forward to the 7DII, just not quite as much, as I had hopes it would at least mirror the 1D4 performance at ISO 12800. It doesn't appear that it will, it will be about 1/2 stop away from that. Not too far off, but I had hopes it would have matched it. The rest of the specs look outstanding for an APS-C body, especially with the demise of the APS-H line.

haha ... i must try harder to get "with" the humor on POTN
i have owned my 5D3 since Nov 2012 and cant see it being replaced by anything! .. even played with a 1DX and although it has a wonderful spec' my 5D3 is going nowhere
then again i dont shoot fast stuff, birds etc that require high frames so i'm lucky in that respect

Should I buy the 10D or wait for the 7DIII?

The 10D is 3Ds better than the 7D.
The answer is obvious.

Think new Canon lenses are overpriced? Lots (and lots) of data will set you free!

On a followup from my original post.

I am STILL WAITING on the brown truck that is not expected before tomorrow....

I wish I had ordered from a different vendor with next day delivery. (I ordered from B&H-it was shipped on Thursday)

But this is better than the original date of end of November

SOON!

(Kudos to Adorama - free overnight, I think B&H annoyed a lot of their preorder folks with delayed and standard shipping)

I hate waiting on UPS/FedEx trucks
I hate waiting on that first football game of the season
but most of all
I hate waiting on the end of November when the 7DMarkII will be shipped to my house.

Patience. I have been waiting four months for a rifle to be imported. Seller, exporter, airline, Importer, FedEx and finally gun dealer in my home town, he should have it by Wednesday.

Agreed. People live in the instant gratification era expecting everything whenever they want it like those replying that people are annoyed with standard shipping. I font have time for anything unless it's a weekend most times.

Just telling you the sentiments that were expressed in another thread that was running about shipping and delivery dates, many with BH orders had found it locally or with a seller that was in stock with free overnight and cancelled their BH order. Early adopters want it quickly by their very nature as early adopters.

The waiting is the best part! Anticipation builds up, and you imagine it for something greater than it is. Once you get it, it's all down hill from there.

That's what she said.

Ordered a BSA Martini International Mk III, If you are not familiar with it it's a .22 target rifle. The Mk III is hard to find, I found plenty of Mk I, II, IV and Vs. The down side to all this is it cost me more to export-import than the rifle cost :(
