Canon D30 who owned one?

This was my firs DSLR and I was very excited to get it. It was amazing for its time. For a 3 megapixel camera, it took some pretty good shots.

I considered buying one but if I recall, back then it cost was about the same as the current price of the 5D MkIII. I waited two more generations and bought a 6 Megapixel 10D crop camera for the same price as what they're charging now for a 6D.

Have you got any images you could post? It would be nice to see some from that old timer

I had one and at the time it was a great camera. A practical digital camera for enthusiasts. I remember being amazed that I could take a picture and print it and have the print in my hands the same day. It used to take around a week with film.

I started with the $1,500.00 10D also.
However, I did own a D30 for some time as a back up. I did not shoot it often, as with the 10D it was not very compettitve. All the timings were so slow, it was glacial.

On that note I do still have a shoot the D60, whioch was right between the D30 and 10D, also with 6MP.
I converted it to Infrared and still enjoy it. Not quite as slow as the d30 but close. The 10D really changed a lot just with the handling improvements.

Ha - memories ... first DSLR, D30, sold it and bought a 30D, then years and years a 5DM3 (and 7D, just sold) and ordered the 7D2. Quite a difference ... not sure I can find any D30 images, but have an entire collection of 30D ...

At the time I was shooting with Oly E10's. I passed on the D30 and D60. But jumped ship with the release of the 10D. It was a game changer in the prosumer niche.

Ha! And I started with a Canon A75... It really lit me up, though

Taken this past July @ my wife's reunion. My 7d was down, the 40d I had died, so back to the trusty D60. Lighting sucked and had to use built in flash also. I was pleasantly surprised by the pictures in still produces.

I bought a used 10D when I had a Canon EOS 630 film camera and 3 lenses. I thought it would be a "Cheap" way to get into digital photography since I could use my EF lenses and didn't need to buy anything else.

Of course that was not the end of it and spent many thousands of dollars over the years.
Not exactly cheap!
