Have anyone tried 24-70 f/2.8 vs 70-200 f/2.8?

i´am pretty sad about results of my lens, very soft wideopen at 70mm up to f/7.1, when it finally matches results from my 70-200 at f/2.8

about 100% crops :

my 70-200 f/2.8 at 70mm wide open

Photographed my cousins wedding which is the first wedding I've ever shot. I bought this lens cause everyone said I would need it and I did! Probably used this for more than half the total shots, it's a keeper!

Well done! You're a brave guy, I would not want the pressure of being the photog at a relative's wedding! These look really good, I hope the newlyweds like them!

yeah idk. i have not gotten those results either. i bought mine second hand about 2-3 years ago. could be something with your lens. your actual settings would be helpful too.. for instance this shot was taken @
f2.8
Iso 1600
1/100s

i was around 2.5 - 3ft away from the bottle
i had a bit of cam shake when i pressed the shutter and even with that, it not near as blurry as your shot. 100%crop with 0 processing

thanks, both of my shots were taken on tripod on same settings and ISO.
i compared my copy to my friend´s 24-70 and there is huge difference especially wideopen on 70mm, so mine is probably one of these bad copies haunting users around the world.

I've had somewhat of the same issue with mine. Post wedding season, it's going to Canon.
