The 1D4 from 2009 with modern updates would be stellar.

No one but DxO knows the formula behind it. DxO's scientific finding on individual aspects is very solid though. The summarized numbers from DXO are useless. It doesn't tell you anything about the camera or lens. However if you care to look deeper into the number crunching,details and graphs inside their sub-menus, those are incredibly useful. 5Diii | 50D | 8-15L 4| 16-35L 2.8 II| 24-70L 2.8 II | 70-200L 2.8 IS II |Tamy 150-600 | Σ35Art 1.4 | 40 2.8 | Σ50Art 1.4 | 85L 1.2 II | 100 2.8 Macro | Helios 44-3 58mm f2.0 |Helios 40-1 85mm f1.5 | 1.4x & 2x teleconverters

More info | Oct 03, 2014 13:07 | #201 I didn't expect the noise to get better since they jammed more pixels on an AP-C sensor. I guess they didn't learn from the Nikon d800 megapixel monster. I don't see the need to dump my 7D to get the mkii.

Oct 03, 2014 13:35 | #202 And yet with 2mpx more, the noise is a bit cleaner yet at 100% (not even downrezzing), and a tiny bit more detail than the 7D, so it's not a wash. I doubt most 7D owners will upgrade, only those that would like 1D capabilities would. Past Equipment | My Personal Gallery

[LIST] I guarantee you that there are professional sports, wedding and event shooters that use the 7D today very very successfully, but don't spend time on boards because they are putting that effort into their art, and they will be able to use the 7D2 as a great tool to step up their results. The rest of the folks will just sit around and point out small deficiencies of what Canon produces, point at other systems, etc. If you point to a system using a Sony sensor, for example, then move there, life is too short to sit and complain about it. ![]() Man, I agree with you 1000%. I have seen this over and over and over again. I remember it was Canon was trying to win the MP war, then when they came out with the 1DX, they complained it was not enough MP because Nikon or some other model had more. My Treasure Chest

I appears that it will do both. That makes it a winner in my book. www.amsaddler.com

Oct 03, 2014 16:08 | #206 Interestingly, once the 7D2 gets to the $1400 price point due to rebates or sales in about 6-9 months after its release, the sales will take off, I feel. Even though the price is very fair where it is, there is something magical that happens to tech sales at the 20% off list price point. That is probably where I will pick one up too, but it will be outside the NBA season at that point, which is where the camera would shine best for what I shoot. Past Equipment | My Personal Gallery

Oct 03, 2014 16:28 | #209 The 7D was available through the Canon refurb Loyalty program for around $1100-1200 in early to mid 2011, much more than 6-9 months after its release, but many other places including the used market was higher than that. Past Equipment | My Personal Gallery
