I was very surprised at the detail in this picture. It was taken with my iPhone. I did a huge amount of cropping to get this close, yet detail is still very good. Admittedly, the flash did wash out some of the color on it's thorax.

iPhone? OMG we are ruined! Just kidding, Terry. That is a cool shot, I've never seen one with blue eyes. I wonder if the iPhone flash made those eyes just appear to be blue? Did you see blue eyes before the catch?

Yes, they actually are blue. An entomologist friend told me it is a Differential Grasshopper. I took some photos today and got blue eyes, but there not really sharp enough to post here. I just got lucky on this one.
