^^ Was that train moving when the guy in the Caddy pulled onto the tracks? ^^

LOL......yeah it was moving but not very swiftly, about 25 to 30 100 car trains go through this town daily during the week, La Grange KY We saw two within an hour on a Friday morning, one going each way . Pretty cool thing to see if your into trains .

A little L goes a long way.

Recently, I had an hour to kill between appointments while near the Alviso, California sloughs. Never been there before so I figured I'd scope things out. I had a G1X in the car, but not my DSLR.

These two commuter trains rolled by so I figured I'd try my luck at train pics. These are not my best train pics, they're my ONLY train pics.

Both the ACE train and the Cal Train were northbound with the the engines pushing, thus the odd exhaust and red lights.

Nice, I think this is the first time I've seen the Ace train posted on here. Nice angles.

Thank you!

I had to scramble and think on my feet about how to catch them. They're moving at a good clip at that point and, like I said, I've never shot trains before. I thought/hoped the water in front might be interesting but honestly didn't anticipate the reflection. The water is exceptionally brackish there with some pretty odd colors. I might have to go back with a little more forethought. The light and time of day weren't particularly flattering either.

I've seen plenty of Roundhouse shots, mostly Steam of course. But, I've never seen one with a view like this! Wonderful image. The timing of the fresh snow and engine parked on the turntable really sets this apart. What were you in to get this view?
