200 1.8 Date Code 1991, EOS 1Ds MkII Manufactured 2005, photo shot 2013. Newest technology on this shot is 9 years. And my fellow photographer wonder why I don't feel the need to upgrade. The model, my wife, is only 10 years older than the lens.. LOL

Found this image when I was "evaluating" the 5D3 in August 2012... I had to match it up with the legendary Canon 200 1.8L to give it some extra punch with DOF!!! Needless to say, the images captured that afternoon at Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens were simply wonderful... Anyhoo... Sharing is caring... 5D3 + 200 1.8L + Canon 48mm Drop-in CPL... ISO 100, f/1.8 @ 1/640sec...

Hi everyone,

I have just noticed that the click points on the tripod mount are off-centre. Am I being daft or is something not right here?!? Lol!

Probably going to send mine off to 'The Lens Doctor' to have a once over - anyone had experience with him? Is it gonna cost the earth???

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a donor 200mm f1.8. I have one which works perfectly in terms of the electornics and mechanics but the body is slightly warped. I know that these lenses are known for the USM failing and as they are no longer supported by Canon, I figured there must be a bunch of them in the world somewhere which are damaged and just sitting around. If anyone has a donor, I'd be interested in buying it. So let me know what you've got.
