On Facebook there is a new group called Potomac River Bald Eagles. They decided to have a photo contest to bring some attention to their new group and also their website, with the subject being simple...Bald Eagles. You could only enter one photo, and the contest ended in August. They announced the winners yesterday...I got the First Place Award of $500 + a Crystal Eagle Statue, and a certificate. Very happy! Tomorrow morning Canada AM (a National weekday morning news show on CTV network) wants to interview me about the shot in particular, and about my Wildlife photography in general. I'm nowhere near any of their studios so I'm to call them on Skype for the interview. We set it up today to test my crappy country internet connection and it seemed t work OK. Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

This was the winning shot, previously posted here.

Thanks Jake. One of the 3 judges said on their Facebook page, "The judges agreed this was a stunning shot among many stunning entries. Ian's capture shows remarkable timing, lighting, composition, and image quality. I don't think any of us (judges) had ever seen an image of an eagle catching 4 fish at one time."
