I think if I had to pick a camera that was least likely to be competition to the 7d2 it would be the 6d. Great low light high ISO, poor AF and slow FPS, about as different target audience as two high dollar cameras can have.

ETA: Ok thinking about it that's stupid, one of those Medium format Manual only cameras would be more different. But within Canon.

price drop cuz of the 7d2?

I would not sell a FF for a crop, unless I was only a bird or sports shooter.

May be he needed to sell to feed his kids? Stolen? Needs a fix? Landscape photog buying a Sony? Lots of reasons to sell

No, because the camera is gray market, and is part of a kit. We cover all of this regarding digitalrev and bigvalueinc in the marketwatch forum.

Proof? Here is a 6D for $1400 a year ago: https://photography-on-the.net …006&highlight=bigvalueinc, a $50 drop in a year is a normal, if not actually quite low, price decrease.

Let's try to keep this thread on target, as hard as it is. :D

Does anyone know what the viewfinder blackout time for the 7Dii is?? I read it somewhere and can't find it again.

I'm still waiting for the used 1D4 and 1DX price drop when 7D2 come out. Then re-evaluate the situation. Although at $1800 it's still a good deal. The only things I can think of at the moment that the big pro bodies are spot metering and faster AF due to higher voltage.

That is good to see; thanks for the link.

I would like a 7D II with, perhaps, the new Sigma 150-600 Sport. Could be a great medium-budget combo for wildlife/birds. Sadly, I think I'm going to be budget-constrained by other gear priorities. :(

I've not used a 10fps camera, but wondered how much time the viewfinder would be blanked if the mirror speeds are roughly similar to the 7D's. I'm sure I read something that said the difference was very small indeed, so wouldn't that mean even less time actually viewing the object in a burst would be the result. Is there a reasonable limit to how much blanking can be used before the shooter starts to lose the track of her/his object?

Just a repost from the imaging resource site, that was up a few weeks ago... The others came from other sites, I believe as well.
