I get a very, very slight hunch that the 35/85 combo is the way to go.
...now, all I gotta decide is whether it's the 35A or 35L.
Again, I'll put another vote in for the 35A + dock. I have used both quite a lot, and can say that imho, the 35L is quicker to focus in lab-based conditions, and will often lock on better in low light. Having said that, the 35A is definitely sharper, and in real-world use, I don't notice a difference with the focus. A lot of people on the 35L thread say that the images just have a slightly nicer feel about them, but I've never been disappointed with the 35A, and I don't know how much that is them trying to make themselves feel better...
