The CA on the 35L is horrible. It was the main reason for me to switch to 35A. Overall I am happier with the Sigma and never had focusing issues, so no regrets at all

The definitive answer, Dankata has spoken!

Ok guys so my usb dock comes tomorrow morning, what system would you recommend me for calibrating the lens. And if you could give me some tips I would appreciate it a lot.

I (and quite a few others on here) like to use the DotTune method - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zE50jCUPhM (external link)

I used the camera on tripod, duct tape on the ground to mark the 4 distances, cereal box on a chair method. ; ) Haven't changed a thing since.

EDIT: Hate myself for not using dot tune method after watching that video.

I see the new version of the software is out.

It's called SIGMA Optimization Pro 1.1 (Ver.1.2.0) for Windows and not confusing at all ;)

I tried 3 copies. The first one constantly front-focuses at certain distance. I have 5D and the dock was not out yet. So I returned it. Thinking back on it, I believe a dock should easily fix the problem. The second one has inconsistent focus issue which couldn't be fixed with the dock (I bought one). The third one is perfect. No adjustment is needed.

Picked on up today from my local store. Did my typical Dot Tune and found that the AF confirm didn't even show until +10 to +20. Dialed in at +15, but it's off longer distances. Guess I'll have to decide on keeping it and getting the dock or taking it back.

I measured the following distances from the focal plane mark on my camera. More info here ---> http://petapixel.com …bol-on-your-camera-means/ (external link)

1. 0.3 m (11-13/16")
2. 0.4 m (15-3/4")
3. 0.6 m (23-5/8")
4. Infinity - For this I just picked something off in the distance with lots of contrast which happened to be my neighbors chimney.

Hope this helps and good luck.

HAHA I also used my neighbors chimney but didnt like the results. I used something with less backlight and had better success.
