Is there a way we can know settings on these high ISO shots here? I'm not getting it when I click on the image - and am curious when I see a shot like this what the other setting are at this ISO level.

I mean, I can ask and wait -- but sometimes, it's nice to grab that info and see what it is -- so??

I've had very limited success finding good EXIF viewers for the web browsers I use (FF or Chrome) but regardless I think it comes down to whether the person has stripped the EXIF data in the process of uploading, etc...

if the image is from Flickr, that is handy because it shows available settings (Exif) but then again - it could be stripped...

Tawny frogmouth are often compared to owls being a nocturnal species but are more closely related to nightjars

Sorry about that, I normally do even though exif will show on flickr. I've edited my post to show camera settings

You can download an EXIF viewer, but they don't always work. If the image is posted on flickr it will usually have the EXIF data there on Flickr, unless the poster removed that data. I always try to post all my settings as such when posting in this thread to help out as much as I can ;)

I'm impressed by 6D's ISO performance. This night I went out with my Tammy (150-600) and of course when the lights are gone the moose cow come and show herself. It was absolutely dark and I took a chance to focus right and 6D make it :)

ISO 65.535 :=)

Broken bat, shot at Fenway Park last month. Since I was shooting a night game with my 100-400L at f/5.6, and I needed to shoot fast (1/2000 sec) to freeze the action, I was obliged to use ISO 6400 on my 7D.

Wish I was clever enough to judge light strength, windspeed and other factors purely from a resultant image

Can you tell from this image whether I needed high iso or not?

More seriously now.

Its also funny someone would have the audacity to criticize some for using high ISO... on a thread dedicated to shots using high ISO...

It's really not funny that someone have the audacity (to use your very harsh word) to not accept that a High ISO comment was made on a High ISO thread ...

Immaculens wrote in post #17204499 (external link)
Several reasons to shoot with high ISO... my two shots (few pages back) of the heron flying at ISO 12,800... I want shots with no blur. Case closed. With I print them? Nope. But I was pleased to see what my camera produced.

We don't have to answer to anyone and if someone comes on here (a "HIGH ISO shots" thread, no less) all high and mighty - this is the kind of response to expect.

Did i ask you something ? no !
Now if you take my comment for yourself ... might my comment be right somewhere ?

Immaculens wrote in post #17204499 (external link)
The TF should give you a new name...

I don't now the meaning of "TF", but speaking about changing my "name" in what you can think about me, can be interpreted as a personal "attack", careful it's a very sliding slope ...
