That writing cards issue totally bombs this camera out for me. It's an absolute pain in the 5D3 and if it's the same in the 7D2 then I Canon dropped the ball

Yes, at any given time it will be slower then the CF slot (just as it was 1 or 2 years ago). Not that it would matter with the 7DII (which is a different camera). If you need the highest burst speed with the 5DmkIII, you just write to the CF card. Canon 5D mk IV

That's ok for Joe Public shooting down at the park, but when you're shooting for an agency, you need to shoot to two cards in case one fails. While it's not what you write, that's important, it's kind of the done thing that you write RAW to CF and jpg to SD to then upload the jpg's as quickly as you can afterwards.
