I have a question for those of you who own Canon 17-55/2.8 EFS lens. I wonder if anyone tried it on A7r and how does it perform in light of the fact that Canons 10-18 EFS actually performs good in certain range?

I tried a couple of test shots with mine and it seemed to have worked fine, just like any other Canon EF lens. I had my camera set to auto detect so the scene was viewed as it should. Crop factor on the a7r is 1.5 instead of 1.6. Raw files are 4800 x 3200 rather than the full 7360 x 4912.

after too much research and homework, i ordered a Nikkor 105mm F1.8 AIs and will be my go to portrait lens along with my FE55.

i know i said i ordered the Nikkor 105mm f2.5 but after further reading, i decided on the f1.8. the F2.5 will be returned unless one of you will grab it from me.

Vinz,

Waiting to see results. of the new 105. I missed the delivery of 70-200 rental today but will have it to try out at a Strobist Halloween type shoot on Sunday.

Way over sharpened in LR I know, this was a huge crop using the 135 F2 as a 'telephoto' lens. I just liked their pose :)

Very Nice. In LR use the masking slider so the sharpening doesn't apply to the background noise.

I meant in full Full Frame mode. You know how you can with certain lenses, like Canon 10-18, or Sony's own 10-18, between 12-18mm it does not vignette in full frame mode?

Sorry, with the 17-55, the image circle is always present from 17mm to 55 in full frame mode. I saw no difference in the size of the circle regardless of where I moved the zoom to.

Here is the image at 17mm.
