Sorry, with the 17-55, the image circle is always present from 17mm to 55 in full frame mode. I saw no difference in the size of the circle regardless of where I moved the zoom to.

Here is the image at 17mm.

perfect that's exactly what I wanted to know!

Youtube is so amazing for lots of free software training!

For masking the sharpening, the trick is to hold the alt key while moving the masking slider. Everything in white is getting sharpened, and everything in black is not. So, just move the slider until only the birds and tree branch is white (sharpened) and the background is black. Let go of the alt key and you're done. :)

Congrats on the TS-E 24!

More image samples from the new FE 16-35mm:

For various reasons, I'm getting more enthused about this lens. It just might be my first native FE lens.

David thanks again. I just played with the mask slider---it's easy, too late for that pic but I'll know next time.
On the 16-35 F4 I wish it was already here, leaving for Utah in the a.m., would have been nice to shoot with.

Little good news....

If you download the FREE Capture One Express(for Sony) from Sony website, the upgrade to PRO is only 30bucks.

if you buy the Capture One Pro 8 directly, it's $269.

What CO said...
Users of Capture One Express (for Sony) have two upgrade options:
- Capture One Pro (for Sony)
- Capture One Pro 8

The feature sets of the two upgrade options are the same, and the only differences are the supported camera brands and the price. Capture One Pro (for Sony) only offers file support for selected Sony cameras while Capture One Pro 8 offers file support for more than 300 leading cameras.

I'm looking on the CO site and the Pro for Sony does indeed appear to be 23 Euro but the Pro 8 (not Sony specific) still seems to be 206 Euro :(

It seems if you want to use a body other than Sony you need to pay full price -

I did try it (starting at the Sony USA site using model number ILCE-7R), got as far as adding to a cart in the Phase One site where the full price popped up.

Oh well
