Excellent photo. The catchlight in the eyes is just right. Looks like fill flash from the angle of its gaze but not from the light. Well done!

You gotta love the look on the face of that owl, and the coniferous background is sweet. Do I assume correctly that the catch light(s) are a product of fill flash?

It was from the built in flash on my body, I no longer use any type of flash when shooting owls. Just in the learning stage when taking this shot, didn't know any better.
