I did a paid wedding!

I was approached by a couple to do a last-minute wedding as their photog cancelled within two weeks of the date. I explained my limited experience in weddings and told them what I could do. The wedding took place in a dimly-lit theater and the reception was in an adjacent hall. Here are a few from the day.

I think for their photographer to cancel and for you - with limited experience - to step in - you did a very good job of something I would be quite reluctant to do personally!

Not sure about that last photo. Looks like a mistake in exposure.

I thought the last was cool. You don't need all of the photos to look alike and the fact that this was in a theater and this photo had a theater stage light appearance was alright by me. Perhaps to have shown one of the couple better exposed if this was the garter scene would be nice, too, though. Don't know what your shutter speed was, but letting a little more ambient light in would have helped this shot, I suppose.

Thanks for the feedback. I took a few other shots during the garter on the other side of the couple, which has them exposed as it should be. I was trying to go a little creative and maybe missed the mark. It was all a good learning experience for me.

Gear for this wedding was - 6d, Tamron 28-75, Rokinon 85, and Canon 200 2.8. I borrowed a T1i as a backup and put my 100 2.8 macro on it for my wife to play around with.

I now have the following gear - 6d, Canon 24-70L f4, Canon 85L, Canon 200L 2.8. I am looking to secure a better backup body soon.

MoJoe - I had a single AB800 setup with bare flash and really just wanted to get a shot that captured how they felt/looked in the moment based on where they were at and how the light was hitting them. I ended up with 4 shots with the similar look. There is one with his head under the dress and after looking over the photos several times, that is now my favorite.

Nice! I did my sisters wedding (not paid or anything, told her I'd get some pictures for her as she didn't have a photographer) and failed miserably. I got a lot of help from this forum after posting for help and hope I get another opportunity to shoot indoors and get results like yours.
