Slap a filter on there and your 6D + 16-35IS is sealed – you can just keep on clicking, haha.

On that note can anyone recommend a decent filter that doesnt break the bank, doesnt affect IQ and doesnt vignette to complete the weather sealing on this lens?

Are B+W worth the extra cash or would a cheap one suffice?

Honestly I'd hate to hinder the detail this thing resolves by using a cheap filter. You can see this difference pretty prominently when stacking several quality vs. low-quality filters at once - http://www.lensrentals.com …od-times-with-bad-filters (external link)

I have a couple B+W filters and swap them around my lenses when I think I'll be in bad conditions. I haven't noticed any degradation, and I'm much more comfortable cleaning off a UV filter with whatever shirt I'm wearing instead of scuffing up the front element itself. That said, if it's a clear day or I'm shooting inside, I'll typically just leave it off. I did splurge and pick up a Kasemann B+W Circular Polarizer around the same time I bought this lens so I would have weather sealing even when using the polarizer, but that's probably not completely necessary in most cases.
