I like the "look" copper style of this lens, on the black camera it's looking really awesome.

I'd be stuck with using Liveview at 10x, I think, and stationary objects...at f2.2 anyway. So that's what's kept me away from the lens. I found this when I was researching the Petzval re-make on kickstarter. I decided to go with the Helios because it was cheaper although "used". It also came with the 3 original filters, tripod leg, leather case and hood. 5Diii | 50D | 8-15L 4| 16-35L 2.8 II| 24-70L 2.8 II | 70-200L 2.8 IS II |Tamy 150-600 | Σ35Art 1.4 | 40 2.8 | Σ50Art 1.4 | 85L 1.2 II | 100 2.8 Macro | Helios 44-3 58mm f2.0 |Helios 40-1 85mm f1.5 | 1.4x & 2x teleconverters

It's a interesting kickstarter. What kick starters what happens if they reach the goal but they end up bankrupt? Do you get your money back? I don´t own the Lomo Petzval lens, but a lot of tinkered lenses. There I use sometimes sewage pipes or smoke tubes as lens housing part, tape and a lot of hot-glue. Don´t care much about how the lens look like, but about how the images look like. DIY-Homepage

If you don't like the price Lomo isn't going to lose any sleep over it, they could have charged $1k and people would still pay it. I don't even like Lomo, actually hate them because I've owned a few of their cameras and they were absolute garbage. This lens was one of the few things they actually did get right now. There's an even cheaper option, the Cosina 50mm 1.7 it also swirls the bokeh. I paid like $10 for mine and I've never seen them go for over $25. Sharp as well, it's sharper than my Canon 50mm 1.4! It doesn't even catch up to it until f/5.6, but it costs 10Xs more. nice Amazon payment, learn something new today! That is the reason I have not tested out kickstarter, I will now!
