I've been looking for the lens for my SL1, and came across this ebay listing from pawn shop.

That bungle does not look like an owner sold the camera to pawn shop, but more like that bag has been prepared for the trip, and maybe stolen.
No cables, no complete manuals...
Am I watching too much ID channel? :)

They have over 3K transactions with 99 percent rating. I think you might be reading too much into it. How do you know the person didn't pack up and pawn all their camera equipment? It happens.

Of course I don't know. But where are the cable, soft, and the manual on CD? I would not sell my camera incomplete.

I always keep mine, then find them unopened in the bottom of a draw 2 years later. Maybe some people have worked out they're not worth keeping!

But not everybody is you. The only camera I have sold on ebay had no cables, software, manuals or even a charger with it. If I sell any of my current DSLRs, they won't come with those things either as I don't know where they are and can't be bothered to look for them.

Not everybody keeps all those things safe and packed away, where they can easily find them at some point in the (possibly distant) future when they decide to sell the camera.

A large, successful pawn shop wouldn't risk their license by throwing stolen items onto eBay. Pawn shops in Texas and many other states have to record serial #'s and provide them to the local police dept when asked.

I never use a cable with my camera, rarely use Canon software, and never use the manual on CD. Why should I keep them? I bet lots of other users say the same.

Yep. I save what I need yo use not saving things for the odd chance I'd sell something.
