Amazing what a simple change of angle can do for a photo. Seldom see a flower shot in profile like this and it works well with this particular specimen.

It caught my eye as I was just walking around with the new 90mm 2.8. Thanks!

Haven't posted here in a while but figured I'd share some shots from a local vintage race

Your panning technique seems spot on, Doogle. I do feel they seem a bit underexposed on my monitor. Looking at the exif you used quite a small aperture and low ISO. May I ask why you chose those values?

Well out of habit I try to shoot at the lowest ISO, as for the aperture I was trying different settings all day long, I wanted to freeze the car but show the wheels spinning still

Typically for motorsports you want your shutter speed fairly low (to capture some motion blur) - around 1/160 or less is common - so more often than not the issue is too much light, not too little, at least in daylight.

Which is why I wasn't inquiring about his shutter speed.

I probably shouldn't be posting in this thread, anyway :) 60D just went away, this week.

Edit: Actually kind of sad. Was a very good body.

Yes, my point being that given typically bright conditions encountered on the track, increasing ISO would require either a shorter shutter speed (undesirable for motorsports photography, in general) or a smaller aperture (again, often undesirable because this opens up the depth of field which makes the shot more "snapshot-like" and less dramatic. Exposure triangle.

My point was that a couple of the shots looked underexposed to me (on my monitor, at home).

In the end, the image I pulled the EXIF for doesn't look underexposed on this monitor (at work).
