K. I think I fixed it now. Went back to flickr to update my settings to allow for the original file size to be viewable. Didn't realize I had that turned off.

Wow that is really weird. May be the new "Space Plane" or the replacement for the SR-71. It could however just be an insect.

There's clearly a very bright light source just out of shot to lower right and the mystery shape points straight at it. To my eye it is clearly lens flare caused by the bright light.

It looks like it's just a very small flare off of the land lights in the lower, left. The angle of the flare and the hardness of the sides look too regular and steady for it to be a comet to me.
