It doesn't get in the way, you don't really have your fingers near the focus ring at all when using this lens INSTAGRAM

Oct 10, 2014 22:08 | #2378 Just purchased this lens today to replace my 18-55 kit lens. It was a gloomy day in Chicago, perfect opportunity to try out this faster lens...

This allowed me to make 4.5 minutes daytime exposure (f11, ISO 100), which made the otherwise ugly clouds nice and smooth and painting-like. Plus a graduated density filter (to make the sky darker), and pretty extreme color saturation. The latter was possible (and still resulted in normal colors, without weird color casts - typical for shots made with superdense ND filters) thanks to the camera calibration I made with X-rite Colorchecker Passport. 6D (normal), 6D (full spectrum), Tamron 24-70 f2.8 VC, 135L, 70-200 f4L, 50mm f1.8 STM, Samyang 8mm fisheye, home studio, Fast Stacker

I'm starting to look at the ND to make some long exposures during daytime I already had a 10-stop filter (B+W, without MC), so I only had to add a 6-stop filter (Hoya Digital Pro 1 MC) to make it 16-stop. You can also find standalone 16-stop filters (like Firecrest), but I like the flexibility of two filters, which allow me to have 6, 10, and 16 stops. 6D (normal), 6D (full spectrum), Tamron 24-70 f2.8 VC, 135L, 70-200 f4L, 50mm f1.8 STM, Samyang 8mm fisheye, home studio, Fast Stacker
