but will the duck survive with the New "AMASS!" forum version - or will a new species mascot emerge?

Once we get the 7D Mark II added to the equipment list so that people can tag their images to it....

There will be NO need for any kind of body or lens photo archive, because if everyone simply posts pics in their everyday replies and tags them to the equipment used, you can very easily just access any camera or lens and see all photos posted mapped to that equipment. :)

Not only that, you can look at a member, and see all the photos they have posted as well, so photos are mapped 3 ways. :D

So, will the new version allow us to upload full size images and resize, or will we still need to use an outside hosting service like Flickr? It would be ultra cool if it just read the EXIF ;)

I will go back and remind myself on what it does with hosted images that you upload.

EDIT: You can upload a very, very large file, but it will then only show a resized smaller version in your reply.

As to the EXIF, when you tag an image with the pertinent equipment data, it will try to read as much as it can from the EXIF, and you just have to fill in any gaps.

Question here. About how long does it normally take, after a new Canon Camera is released, for Adobe to upgrade Lightroom to import the raw images for that camera?

Wondering that too.
DPP 4 is painful.

I suspect it won't be too long; there's an "early build" of ACR 8.7 available that will process 7D2 RAW files (see here: http://www.dpreview.com …i-real-world-samples-beta (external link)). Once that version is finalized it should show up in LR.

Some Canon stuff and a little bit of Yongnuo.

I hope it's very soon. I stumbled around DPP last night, but it is so outside of my normal workflow, I gave up after a few shots.

Is DPP4 that different to DPP 3.14.51, or whatever version it is at? That 3.14 also does 7D2 raw.

Ok... So... Just pulled the trigger and purchased through Barry (cameralensrentals) via POTN's Marketplace... Payed extra for overnight shipping ($18) and no tax (CA resident)... I'll have it for the Breeder's Cup this weekend... Woo Hoo... Will give my full assessment in a 'real world' setting with this body... This will be my first 1.6x cropper I've owned since my XTi...
<--- Excited Photog Right Here!!!

:D

PS. I guess I'll cancel my 7D2 reservation on BH...

It is a little more advanced. The UI is different. The sliders offer greater fine tuning if you use the up and down arrows. It goes from 1 unit with the slider to .1 units with the arrows.

I am using DPP to convert to a 16-bit TIFF. I zero out all settings and add DLO.

Been reading the manual....glad all of my main lenses are Class A or B! Going through the AF part now (which is by far the most interesting part) - really crazy how many different ways there are to configure it, I can tell already I'll be making use of the C1 - 3 and saving my most common use scenarios in there.
