That doesn't make me feel any better.

I talked to a local camera shop and they have not received confirmation of their shipment as of about 11:30 AM PDT.

Tom, I noticed you are in Napa. If you don't mind a bit of a drive, I just got an email from Looking Glass Photo in Berkeley about a launch event on Saturday, and they promise cameras on the shelf. That might mean they will have them in stock sooner.

Sounds like B&H is not doing as good - I pre-order 9/22 and was told today that my order would be shipped middle of next week. Gee I hate this wait.

Thanks. I am still not giving up on amazon but even if delivery is Monday that is not the end of the world. I've been told we are starting on the office this weekend (last and worst room to get through after the earthquake) so spending time on that while the new camera sits waiting would be difficult. (Am I looking ot hard for the silver lining?)

I emailed Helen yesterday, asked if Adorama is ready to ship yet. I asked because some small stores have already delivered to buyers.

She said; I'm sorry, I have no idea. But B&H are three times the size of Adorama, and are also expecting deliveries tomorrow:

SO, nothing against Helen, as she is always very responsive to my queries -- but what puzzles me in this age of electronic tracking, when individual buyers can know the instant something ships, and track it all the way to our doors, why Adorama is only guessing it will arrive tomorrow - and not know for certain on a shipment that large -- and a complete new product that I assume quite a few customers have ordered, and has been anticipated for quite some time now.

So, I'm pretty puzzled by that response - or lack of info -- and am wondering about the other stocking items too. The last four items I ordered at Adorama were out-of-stock (two occasions) ... So, I have no clue, but it disturbs me that I can't depend on Adorama lately for my equipment.

I sure hope it arrives tomorrow, but even then, it not likely to immediately ship -- so probably Monday or Tuesday at earliest. Of course, Canon at first said late November -- so, it's sooner than that now, so we should smile about it and shut up I suppose.

Oh,oh,oh! I just got an email from Chase about an online charge to my card of $2327.39 so the camera should be shipping NOW.

Thanks for posting the update. To give Adorama credit, they've been consistent on the 7DII ordering page in stating "First Canon delivery date expected November, 2014." Let's hope it turns out sooner rather than later.

Kudos to her for even replying to you.

After she clearly explained that they wouldn't have any in until the 30th and then you ask again if they have any in (before the 30th) and then wonder why she doesn't know if they have any in the warehouse (before the 30th) I think if I was her my reply to you would be less professional.

Which is why I don't have her job I guess.

Why not just wait until the 30th? or by local if you can't wait that long?
