Whoooaa!!! Really? You have to give me the real low-down on this cam. I need to replace my orig 7D.

Since I'll be relatively new to the 7D-series, I'll do my best to assess this new iternation, E!!! Wish me luck!!!

Awesome! Very anxious to hear what you think after you've had a few chances to use it. I'm seriously hoping to add a crop-size to complement my 6D sometime in the coming months. You must be the very first 7D2 owner around here. Hadn't seen anyone else mention it yet.

I do what I can to give an honest review based on my shooting style and application, Dean...

I'd really like to see how the RAW high ISO and shadow noise compares to your 1DIV.

This is what intrigues me the most... I'll definitely let you know, good sir...

Congrats...let me know next time and I will give you my UPS number so you don't have to pay that overnight charge.

I'm still VERY JELLY with your iPhone 6 Plus... My combo, at the moment, will be 1Ds3 + 35L and 7D2 + 135L for the event photography stuff... Will be using speedlites on both combos, as well... Oh... And my iPhone 4s, too!!! Womp WOMP!!! :(

^ Yes... 1Ds3 and 1D4... 7D2 will get the 'starting lineup', but may switch to the 1D4 if needed...

I'd image the shooting conditions would suit the 7DII well and any of the things it lacks from the 1DIV wouldn't really be needed so you could get an extra 4 MP while not needing quite as must much focal length.

The slight different ergos could through you off though, I still end up pushing the * button instead of AF-ON on my 1DIV at times when I switch over from shooting with the 5DIII.

Do you BBF Butchie? my 1DX i'm able to configure AF-ON button for one-shot and '*' button for AI-Servo. Freak'n awesome... easily nail focus for any and all shooting scenarios. It's hard to shoot with anything else since.

Let me know if it's capable of custom configure to do that.

damn that is awesome. Sony doesnt even use a back button focus, it's back button focus off

not an issue since I manually focus about 99.9% of the time.

I actually use one of the DoF buttons to switch between AI Servo & one-shot on my 1DX. Works really well. Use my right middle finger to tap as needed. :)

I do use the BBF process in both my 1D Series bodies, E, with AI-Servo... I'm reading a few sources saying 'Case 1' configuration is the way to go for the best AF possible... I guess I'll find out...

:)

Well that really depends on what and where you're shooting. The case are just presets of things you've probably set on your older 1 series and you changed them all to better suite your shooting needs. It's even possible to set them all to be the same.

I find case 2 most closely fits most of my action shooting.
