I saw on Canon Rumors that Adorama says they will be shipping out pre-orders today. The next question is where do you fit on the pre-order list list in relation to the number of cameras they received. I hope I am on the shipment list for today. I ordered on Sept. 17.

Another reason I am glad I pre-ordered locally. Not only am I guaranteed a copy, but it also worked out cheaper than ordering online, somehow. That, and I pick-up today; don't have to wait for shipping. Win-win-win!

Orders are being picked and packed for overnight shipping as I type. :D Don't shoot me down if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that we just enough for all pre-order bodies, and a few kits left over.

That's also my case. I'm going at 3:30PM, as soon as I get off work! I hope I don't get a speeding ticket getting there. ;)

After a trip that I took this summer where I got frustrated because I needed a sensor cleaning kit and couldn't find any camera stores, even in major Canadian East-Coast cities, I decided that I better start supporting my local store before they also shut down. Online is great, but there is nothing like the support of your local camera store!

Sadly it's so dang dry here we are very short on ducks, but I will do my best.

Then take a picture of the dirt - 6400 ISO. :p

Interesting statement direct from Canon today (I called Canon a few minutes ago) --

QUOTE: "Retailers should be getting the "Body Only" shipments today, some already have received the bodies. Body lens combinations have not shipped from Canon to retailers yet."

And, she said everyone is selling out as fast as they get them in.

Adorama has changed the info on it's order page from "pre-order" to "out-of-stock" ... which seems to mean they got a shipment, they have none left after fulfilling orders. That's my guess ... but according to Canon, "It is body only orders that fill" today ...

I'm also guessing most folks that bought the 7D2 already have a series of lenses, and few would buy the 18-135 with it -- more likely, a different lens even if s/he needs a lens. The 18-135 is not a lens I would buy with the 7D2 ... a more likely lens would be 24-105 or a longer telephoto. That's a guess tho'...

Not sure if this has been mentioned here but Mr Rebates temporarily offers 3% cashback on Amazon cameras until 10/30.
You can knock $54 off a new 7DII this way.

That's a rarity there.

I just checked my email. I have one from Adorama stating my card was declined. I checked with the card issuer and my last payment made on 10-24 has not been fully credited to my account and that it takes 3 to 5 business days for that to occur. I called Adorama and they say all is OK since they have an authorization number already? Now it appears I am in financial business hell. Also apparently Adorama has not received the new batteries and battery grips yet.

I agree and wish there was a good camera store here in Napa.

I was curious about this and uncertain from a pure "get the camera the quickest" which to order. I guess the kits are in less demand and go out later.

I ordered the kit for a lot of reasons but still hopeful it will ship today.

Wow that is awesome it worked out cheaper. I know my local camera store is usually higher than the Canon suggested retail price so I didn't even bother with them.

Other than Best Buy, we no longer have a local full service camera store. There are a couple still around, but they are a few hours away.

It won't be long and we'll see the 7D IIs in stock everywhere, along with the grips, batteries (including third party batteries like Sterlingtek), L brackets from RRS and Kirk and the software updates for Photoshop and Lightroom.

That said.... my mother in law often said: Patience is a virtue, possess it if you can.... it's seldom found in woman

But Never in a man. ;)
