Ordered on 15-Sept from Adorama. Credit card charged today 30-Oct.

Called Adorama 1140am EDT. Used Automated line for order status. Status- Order boxed today for UPS overnight shipment. Tracking number was provided by Adorama's automated order status line.

The tracking number was not hitting the UPS site yet but I'm pretty comfortable I'll have the new toy in my paws for the weekend!

Keep 'em flying,
Greg B

I'm getting mad at myself for getting obsessed over a luxury item.

I think of it more as being excited about a new item to learn and enjoy. Well, I'm watching this thread, so I guess a bit obsessed also.

...for casual outdoor use or walk around situations where the zoom range would be useful and switching lenses isn't easy.

Yes, I agree. I hope the 18-135 doesn't end up just sitting in the bag and never on the camera as it seems to have a lot of potential, especially as an outdoors, general purpose lens.

From all I've read, the 18-135 STM has an IQ that rivals the 15-85. That is something. I love my 15-85 outdoors. The trade-offs are wide end vs. more on the long end, of course. But if the 18-135 STM is so close as to be indistinguishable from the 15-85, I think it it will prove to be an excellent walk-around lens.

Guess I feel a little better about my order from B&H. Ordered the body and kit... current status now shows "in stock, order sent to warehouse" So I guess I should have it no later than Tuesday.

On another note, Canon Direct has 17 of them in stock as of a few minutes ago.

16 now :)

I canceled my B&H order. Going on a birding trip this weekend and I wanted the extra reach.

Cancelled my BB order and am trying the Kit from Adorama instead, hopefully I make the cut :)

Adorama has the kit in stock and ready to roll, plus it includes an extra battery and some software. (see my link above)

Yeah, I just wasn't sure if they still had stock (sometimes websites lag a bit) - Helen just confirmed that everything is shipping except for the extra battery, mostly because Canon isn't shipping those yet I don't think, so I *should* have it tomorrow, I hope.

Wow that is awesome it worked out cheaper. I know my local camera store is usually higher than the Canon suggested retail price so I didn't even bother with them.

Yeah, I paid 1899 CDN. No shipping costs either :)

Remember, we ship orders received up until 8:00 pm ET. So although the trucks leave us as soon as they are filled up, they sit in the UPS yard and are scanned all together - and it may not be until around 9:30 pm - so please don't drive yourself nuts checking & re-checking the UPS website!

Very nice indeed. Since I am in financial services hell I am hoping Adorama will keep one for me since I pre-ordered when the bank finally credits a payment to my account.
