Is it 4x4" or 6x6" filter size?

I am happy to see some 3rd party brands making some lenses or filters or accessories to give us options over those high name brands such as LEE and Singh Ray.

I decided to go for an 82mm 10 stop, as that's the largest filter size I have, and then I just bought adapters for my other lenses. The filter used in my photo above was a cheap £35 job - http://srb-photographic.co.uk …nd-1000-filter-6573-p.asp (external link) It has a slight cast, but nothing major that can't be corrected in post :)

I have threatened to try that on a filter I don't care about...just curious what the chemicals might do to the glass...particularly any coated filters like the MRC coating on B+W filters.

Go for it and then report back!

I am going to suspect it won't do anything, but create a film layer over and above the filter, without ruining anything...

Well, i did bought those different sizes but then i regret it after i bought those 4" filters, i may keep 1 or 2 filters only, i have Sighray Vari-ND 77mm that i no longer use it at all, but i will not sell because it is expensive filter i bought and no good sale at all.

Good if members here are happy with filters not square/rectangular.

that would take some effort to remove too....looks like a good scene for it.

This one is actually 16 stops...Big and Little Stopper combined...first try at it...

I did purchase that $15.00 filter but after reading the info from you guys i just bought the Hitech 10 stop. It will be a couple weeks before i receive either one of them but i'm hoping to get a few good shots to post here when i get it. From what you guys tell me i don't think i would be satisfied with the $15.00 filter. I have a 5D classic and some L glass so i think it deserves a better filter than the cheap one so here's the other one i just bought.

Why you didn't buy 100x100mm [4x4"] one instead of this? if you can cancel the order or replace it it will be better, got for larger filter when you can.

from what I've seen from hitech, you'de be better off with the $15 filter. The cast is bad, and it's a poor 10 stop filter. I would only consider lee or haida, with haida being slightly better.

I bought the 85mm because i already have the Corkin holder that fits it...

Sorry and i apologize to say that, but you should or have to replace that Cokin holder too, i have mine lost somewhere in the house and if you told me i can sell it for you very cheap, so better go with LEE filter holder, or at least this new Hitech holder, but if you want to stay with Cokin then better go with Z-Pro holder than P-series.

Good luck with any decision you make, it is up to you.
