We went to the wrong lookout, we got tiny tufas :cry:

You may not have been where you wanted to be, but you made the most out of where you were. Looks like you had a nice calm morning. It can sometimes blow a gale across that lake.

Thanks Jon! Then I'm glad we went to the wrong lookout :D It's too bad we woke up too late for the sunrise on our second day. We really wanted to get the larger tufas at sunrise. Guess we need to plan another trip to Mono Lake :)

You must have gone to the Visitor Center and not South Tufa Preserve? If so, I did the same thing, but thankfully I was early enough to move.

I'd be happy with this regardless.

Thanks Mike! That's where we were! :( We were like "These are the tufa's?!?! They look so different on the internet!". :lol: We woke up too late the next morning for the sunrise at South Tufa so we went back at night :)
