It could be just my very little experience with my friends XE-2, but I had a horrible time with EVF. Might be a setting issue, but when that EVF was held up next to a Canon's OVF, it was seriously night and day. Couldn't see anything in the Fuji, could see a lot in with the Canon. I don't remember which lenses were being used, unfortunately. Maybe he'll stop lurking and actually comment on this subject lol.

He raised the brightness settings, but said it didn't look great and was still a little dissapointed. How is the xt-1's EVF in low light?

That doesn't align with my experience with the XE2. The EVF will slow in very low light with a slow lens, and the brightness is low. However, it is still better than a Canon OVF in the same situation equally challenged. There is a setting in the fuji menu that needs to be changed when shooting manual mode in low light. Not sure the name of it though. It makes a huge difference.

The X-T1 is a huge improvement from the XE2. Bigger and better :)

Interesting, I'll relay the info, thank you. He was using a manual focus lens, so maybe that is why.

Thats great to hear about the better EVF on the X-T1.

Thanks again.

if you're stopped down, an EVF can be unbearable to outright unusable. Best to compose wide open.

Native lenses/DSLR's compose wide open and stop down when they shoot. I'm sure there's a DOF preview mode with the fuji, you want to turn that off to avoid slow EVF issues.

on the X-T1, there is a preview exposure setting that's defaulted to on. Not sure if the XE-2 has a similar setting. I find turning that to off in low light helps the slow EVF.

Oregun, ^^^^^

Fantastic shot, as are your other flickr pics. I have been a canon boy for decades, just picked up a xe-1 a few months ago and am loving it.
