I have an opposite dilemma. The wife insists on me buying a FF in addition to my 70D (I know, I am a lucky bustard). What will a 6D do that the 70D cannot? Any help?

it is often claimed that if you like to shoot in low light - the 6D is the clear choice.

Other benefits of the 6D are.... um.... did I mention the low light thing?

Meanwhile, a fellow wildlife photographer did a hands-on review of the new 7D II and he has been using the 70D for some time and obviously wanted to know how the new 7D II compared...

The list is small - the 70D is a very strong contender, unless of course, you want a larger raw buffer, or 10fps (vs the 70D's 7fps), larger body, and you can focus at f/8 using an extender. The reviewer (Ken Newcolme) saw no difference in high ISO noise or image quality - or (interestingly) locking focus in low light, which is supposed to be a new strength of the 7D2.

I'm happy with my 70D and I will give my baby some new longer glass in 2015

I came to the USA from a communist country, and for a while I had a Resident Alien status ("green card"). Did it make me a "communist alien"? :-)

Oh my, I should choose my wording more carefully in the future.

You perfectly described my appearance two weeks ago in a hospital. I qualify! :-)

Hey how do you like your ef-s 60mm macro?

I have a friend wanting to get into macro but he also wants it for other uses such as landscape... I have suggested the 50mm f/2.5 and the 60mm f/2.8... neither are wide for landscape... but they are wider than the Tamron 90mm VC or EF 100mm options... ;)

I like it a lot, but I use it only for two purposes: macro and my wife's paintings, and it does these two jobs admirably - very sharp and clean. I heard it is good for portraits, but I do not do that. I tried it for landscapes and city architecture, but it is too wide for that.

Received my 70D today from Canon (refurb). Tested everything out and all looks perfect! No focusing issues at all, accurate focus one shot after another. Some really great features! Will be perfect backup to my 5D3. It was too dark when I got home today, but tomorrow I want to try it with my 300 and 1.4x together.

I also want to get all my lenses microadjusted, so that will be my little project tomorrow! The 70D feels so much better to me than the 60D I rented once... Far more impressive camera with the additional features. Can't beat it for the sub-$600 paid!
