Anyone else?

I'll also give a thumbs up to the 10-18mm STM.

Doubt it...other websites agree. This includes slrgear and photozone. The 10-18 is just the sharper lens...not amazingly sharper...but sharper.

If you compare wide open to wide open then the 10-18 wins for sure, but if you stop the 10-22 down the 2/3rd to full stop that the 10-18 doesn't have, they are almost too close to call: wins her and losses there.

Kind of the same fate as the 70-200/4 IS and 2.8 non IS. The f4 IS is known for being so sharp but if you stop the 2.8 non IS down to compare apples to apples, they are very close too.

Yes and that's what I've said..I've compared them...they are close..but the 10-18mm win from the resolution reviews I have seen from multiple companies. 10-22 is close for sure...but the newer optical path of the 10-18mm just does slightly better at maximizing newer sensors.

Several people have said that the 10-22 improves when stopped down. Now they may be discussing the sharpness at the corners, but the results I got for FoCal Pro suggests that there's very little difference between wide-open and stopped down.

And it's not just me - Reikan have been collating data from many users. Here's a graph of their results - LINK (external link).

According to the lenstip review, the Samyang 10/2.8 is about the sharpest in the center, but the 10-18 wins at the corners. Do you need AF?

True, the Samyang 10mm/2.8 lens does not auto-focus, but you probably wouldn't need it. According to http://www.dofmaster.com/dofjs.html (external link), the hyperfocal distance at f/2.8 is 4 feet, meaning that everything from 2 feet to infinity is in focus. Just superglue the focus ring to 4 feet!;)

And, if you are at all interested in a fisheye effect, the Samyang/Rokinon 8mm/3.5 is probably less expensive and very good. You can, if desired, de-fish the results, which will still be pretty good.

I have the sigma 10-20 4-5.6 and it is a great lens for my use. I used a buddies 10-22 and then went for the sigma 10-20. It is a solidly built lens, fast to focus, quiet, works well with the Video AF on my 70d also.

Current Gear: 70D - Sigma 10-20 F4-5.6 - 24 2.8stm - 50 1.8 stm -
