Picked up the 7D MkII yesterday at Tempe Camera, I had ordered it when the 7D came out in case they upgraded it! Guess I was at the top of the list. It looks good so far. Will test fire it today.

I'll meet up with you and we can test it to compare it to my 1D X. I'm curious about the noise performance of the 7D II.

Hello fellow Arizonans,

I have a favor to ask. A good friend of mine just found out her mom has cancer. She has asked me to take pictures of her entire family before her mom starts the surgeries and chemo. I believe there will be about 17 people. I need to find a location in the north Phoenix area that would accommodate that many people and be a good backdrop for family pics. It can be outdoor (parks, etc) or indoors.

Can anyone suggest any venues or places where this might be possible? I'm also doing this for free, so if there are any venues that charge, please let me know in advance so I can tell the family.

Thanks,
Rich

Where in north valley? Are you close to rio vista park? Do you have lights to use? Chapparal Park? or Thunderbird Park on pinnacle peak rd? Or by Deer Valley Community Center? Or Police Park?

There is this park called Saguaro Ranch Park that has beautiful peacocks everywhere. Plus many different areas for backdrops. Go there.

DisneyDork06: I'll have 2 flash guns, light stands, and some umbrellas to use. I'm looking for a spot along the 51 or I-17. Don't really want to head as far east as Scottsdale or as far west as surprise, but between those would be great.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check them out this weekend.

For Saguaro Ranch Park you may need a permit: SRP Photo Permit (external link)

Good catch on the Saguaro Ranch Park permit. It's a common location for engagement photos, that's why.

Rose Mofford Park is at peoria and 27th ave area (by outback steakhouse!) And the cave creek parks adjacent runs along through greenyway. could be an idea.

I finally edited photos that I had taken a while ago! These are from the first round of playoffs my varsity team was at. I took a backseat and shot some photos for yearbook/magazine. I did try and help with some pointers to the team.
