Hello all !

Thanks again to you friends.

It's true that the more you look, the more you see. These images were new for my eyes yesterday since I took them just some hours before, but this morning, looking at them again, I see many little differences I didn't note yesterday.

Today, we return to Hanches.
Unfortunatelly there were two vans parked in front of the facade of the bar.
Hanches is not very far from home, I'll return there, hoping there will be no vehicule...

Circa 1900-1910

Again in Hanches, the main street. (according to the stamp, it seems to be in 1913)
Here the differences are huge !

Thanks a lot Eric ! :D

I just come back from another little trip like this one.
Tomorrow (or this evening if I have enough time), I'll send some other photos on the same concept.

A photo taken this afternoon vs one taken in 1920
I would have prefered a beautiful blue sky as two days ago, but ...

In another village now.

This one is called Sonchamp.
The first photo shows the city hall / post office in 1932.
Nowadays this building is no more the city hall of the village. It's now a grocery but keeps at left a small office attributed to the mail.

Merci beaucoup North Dude !

In the same area, another village, this one is called La Hunière.
I have been there yesterday to compare with the the photo below which is dated circa 1900-1910

This is really a fantastic journey through time to look at these, Bernard! As someone else mentioned, you're doing a wonderful job of matching the angles that the photos were taken from for these. Thank you for a great thread :)

Sincerely, many thanks to you my friends for these words.
I thoroughly appreciate.

Eric, when you say "journey through time " it's excatly what I felt when being at these places.
My wife (she was with me at the second day) told me that it was very moving to be there, to see the persons on the old photos and to think to them when looking at the same places now.

Once again, thank you very much to you.

Today, another village: Orcemont

It seems that the first view is dated 1901, but it's difficult to read what is printed on the stamp.
Anyway, this view was taken several years before WW1

In the same place, one of the exits of the village, the road to go to Orphin.
No more horse but many cars...
The first house at right has been very much modified, but all the others are nearly unchanged.
