Has anyone here found a tad bit of play in the lens when extended?

There is a "tad bit" but my 24-105L also has a "tad bit", so overall I am very with the build quality. It is as good or better than any other Canon consumer lens I have ever owned.

Checked both me 18-135 and me 24-105. Both tight as a drum.

Can you please define what you mean by "tad bit of play"? Do you mean as you are extending the lens or when it's fully extended? Play in what direction? I just got a 7D MKII with this lens so I'm new to it so sorry for the basic questions.

Just the slightest bit of movement if the barrel is pushed when fully extended

So just a tiny bit of movement when fully extended? This is a fantastic lens, I'm just trying to make sure this is normal.

What direction is the movement? In line with the lens or side to side? I'll check mine this evening. I just got the lens with my new Canon 7D MKII camera.

It's just a tiny bit of side to side movement on the actual barrel itself, not the lens element
