I'm at the second part of the sports shooter application where I have to chose images to preset to them.

I obviously will fix the captions but here are the 11 images that I narrowed down and thought to be the strongest..

Thats what I didn't understand. I applied independently as a student. But the email I got said "Congratulations, your chosen sponsor has approved your request for membership to SportsShooter.com, and you are now able to advance to the next stage."

Should I email them back and say that I don't have a sponsor? Although I did reference a professor from my school which is a well-known photojournalist but I'm pretty sure he isn't a member of the website.

I think those look pretty good. Make sure your captions are strong.

Are there any that you would take out? I'll definitely be taking some time tonight when I get home from school to come up with some captions.

Solid set. The one that I would remove is the pictures you have labeled "Hand to the Face". It appears that it is either over sharpened or a heavy crop. Just my .02

Thank you. Yeah, it's a really tight crop. I have a version where you can see the whole body. My professor suggegsted that I crop it tighter..

I'd probably take out "overtime loss".
Not because it's flawed, but there are other soccer emotion shots in this set I like better.

Don't worry about the 'sponsor' email reply. Robert probably just uses a standard canned reply for submissions at this point of the membership process.

I feel this portfolio is diverse and strong, nice work. I'll keep an eye on SS for your profile!

As long as you have $25 in your PayPal account you are good to go.

Haha I was going to say the same thing. I'd quit worrying. If you pay them, you'll get in. When I joined almost a decade ago, it was halfway worth being a member. I'd almost say the $25 is a waste now. SS is nothing like it used to be. But hey, I guess if it helps you get a few jobs here and there, it may be worth it.

Yeah I let mine lapse a couple years ago. I know it is only $25, but just didn't see the point anymore.
