Thank you Gabe. This camera sure makes them easier to come by if you keep your technique solid. I think my 100-400L ges along better with this camera than my 7D1.

I would shoot raw + jpg for now. I doubt anyone could tell the difference between an edited in-camera jpg and a TIF from DPP, except for high dynamic range subjects, at least in Lightroom. When Adobe comes out with the 7D2 raw interpreter, you can go back to the CR2 files if necessary.

TIF files have a big advantage when repeatedly re-editing, but Lightroom doesn't do that to files.

That's exactly what I've been doing :)

Same here. I zero out NR, sharpening and ALO. I add the Lens Optimizer, adjust WB and exposure then convert to tiffs and process in PS CC.

Thanks Eric. It is a first for me. The first Snow geese I saw were from a distance of 1/4 mile or greater. I saw one this weekend from a distance of about 100 yds. Then this juvi from about 30 yds. I had a good idea it was a Snow Goose since we had a large amount of them go through last night but the colors were not what I expected so to Sibley's I went.

Thats really is a good question. I can't imagine why Adobe is dragging it's feet on getting an update out to cover such a popular camera...along with the D750. Seems very odd.

Adobes too busy trying to figure out how to squeeze you for more money via a forced LR subscription plan to worry about coding for a new RAW standard.

As far as Canon are concerned they bundle a perfectly good RAW converter in with their cameras. Adobe probably need Canon advice or guidance to translate the RAW data from the new camera (I dunno) and maybe Canon are being difficult. Just because we are multi-product in our daily lives, doesn't mean that these big companies like playing ball with each other.

That hairy shot is probably one of the best OOC jpg results (at 100%) I have seen yet to date. As to the noise, it really isn't bad, even with the camera sharpening being applied. Nothing that would show up in a print anyways. Great!

What is odd, is how far off the 2nd shot is to the first, though. The details are more harsh and the subject material isn't quite in the same focus as the hairy. Were picture style settings changed between the different shots perhaps?
