I don't think so. It looks nice. I think dave's work looks nice. It has that appearance of one who is skilled at the camera but incapable at the computer, but nice nonetheless.

In my view skill with the camera is indeed critical. One must have mastery over their gear. But, that's half the effort. Skill and mastery is needed in post as well. The refusal to take it further in post is not the mark of a professional. Rather it's the mark of a lazy artist with limited vision and skill. Great photography is not an either/or scenario regarding in-camera vs. post. It's both. A strong effort is needed in both areas.

That's just my view - I'm not going to give it that astonishingly arrogant flourish that dave did by making it a statement of absolute fact; it's purely my own opinion. I'm fine with dave having a different opinion. What I'm not fine with, is when opinions are made in an absolute sense.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I am booking for 2015 field shoots and post-processing workshops. Mods - feel free to delete if this is the wrong forum.
