Happened to be in town for this event. Wow, several thousand people in period costumes. All shot with 5DIII and 100-400. Sepia toned to get ride of modern colours in the backgrounds.

Great job on these! I especially like #1 & #6. Both show a lot of feeling.

I've been to Gettysburg probably 20 times over the last few years, but never dared go when there was a reenactment or commemoration. Too many people for me.

I prefer the solitude. :-)

Thank you, I expected quiet and got vibrant. I was really interesting, it is unbelievable the attention to detail.

Quite a series you have on your Photostream, Don. Looks like you got a shot of everyone in the parade! Nice job all around.

I chuckled at the one of the guy in period dress with the big white "L" slung over his shoulder. ;)

Thanks,I was not even close getting them all, there must have been at least 2,000 folks in period garb.

Excellent work! I live local (~45 min drive) to Gettysburg.

I'll be darned if #4 isn't a retired teacher/coach of mine who is also a good family friend!

Can you PM me about prints or a JPG of the photo?

Thanks.

Gordon

Great shots. The sepia tones help with the period feel.
