The curse is lifted. I got my new 7D II a week ago and have been piling up what few bird photos I have gotten in the interim on my CF card, awaiting the release of LR 5.7. That happened this morning! So, here are a pair of evening grosbeaks from last week. I'm not sure I have ever seen this species on our property before, though I have seen them just down the road. Their numbers, apparently, are way down from years ago, so it is always a treat to see them. The surprising thing was that I was just training the new camera on the feeder, speculating as it were, when they flew in; I just about fell over! They did not stay for more than a couple minutes, unfortunately.

You did well with your couple of minutes. Think positive thoughts, and they will return! It works for me with a pair of cardinals!

Thanks, Sandy. I thought it was, negative expectations yield negative results, and positive expectations yield negative results. Perhaps I'm wrong.

You got some! Good for you Al! Yep, be prepared, these were the advance scouts. They'll show up every day or two for a week, then you'll be surrounded once they spread the word that you're feeding them. :)

I have loads of both right now....they compete to see who can empty the feeders first.

Thanks guys. I don't expect to see a lot of them take up residence; there's just not that many of them in our country. I'll keep my eyes peeled though.
