Can't wait to see the first airshows with the 7dmkII, but then again i was surprised
with the capability of the 70D. Great advantage are the 3 pre modes i really miss
them, had them on my 40D, makes it easy to switch between props and jets and static on shows.

On a 7D2 you can set it up so a single back button (I have it set for *) can completely change you to a new shooting mode when it's pressed, so you don't even have to move to a custom mode. It will change your shutter/aperture/ISO/Focus Area/metering/AF sensitivity (and a couple of other things I think) to a different setting when you hold it down. Now I haven't tried setting up the instant switch, registering my current settings to a C setting, and then changing it and registering to a different C setting to see if it saves that setting to...if it does, you really have 6 instant or quick access settings you can have saved in the camera.

The 70D did a great job for me this summer at an airshow.

Eve - did you catch that bird with the plane, or add it in post? It's a great image either way, but super cool if it's one shot!

I assume you are referring to the 7DII here?

Yes, sorry, evelakes mentioned custom slot settings on the 7D2, and I didn't clarify in my response, I have edited it for clarity.
