I'm anticipating seeing at least one of these beauties again this year because one or two are getting close to my neck of the woods so I decided to dip into some folders from last year to motivate myself.

I traveled up to Deleware for this young female last year after a fellow photog convinced me it was worth the trip. I wasn't disappointed.

And a couple from Virginia.

Great memories Duane.....we have a few in our area now but I haven't had a chance to get out yet. Hopefully they will be around for the next while. We had a GGO less than five minutes from the house all last winter, so a repeat this year will be greatly appreciated :)

I would love to photograph a GGO but sadly I doubt one would ever come this far south for it's picture to be taken by me. Good luck if it decides to return for you this year and I hope you get a chance to photograph a Snowy if one is in your area.

Nice! On Saturday I was hiking on a low open NH mountain with a friend and her Springer when the dog flushed a male Snowy. So I went to Plum Island Ma yesterday where I saw one at scopes distance away. Seems like they are starting to arrive on the New England coast. Sure was fun last cold season.

There will be days when you get the shot(s) you missed days, months or years before.

Thanks again everyone. I made my first trip yesterday looking for them but came up empty. It' still kind of early in the season if they do decide to make it down to Virginia this winter.
