Dang, I walked into Park Camera and left with the MP-E 65mm on Saturday ... no I have the MP-E and the 180L as Macros

Still no 14mm L

the 300mm f4 plus 1.4x extender instead of the 400mm 5.6 is something I want to look as well

I really enjoy my 14mm L. The only "weakness" is CA's. Other than that it is comparable in sharpness to the Samyang 14mm (which I bought and then sold). The Samyang has terrible distortion and I could not correct it sufficiently with any LR plugin.

My 'Trinity' of fast primes are the 24L II, 50L and 85L II. I find on my full frame and APS-H (1.3x) sensors it's a perfect setup.

you mean "you think" the "I'm going all primes!" phase is finished. let's take a look at your gear bag in a year if you haven't gone the way of dante king and ed "lord" malone by then ;).

Glad to know I've made such a lasting impression on you, ed. Although it may appear that I was but a mere fart in the wind, truth is I never left. Sort of like your case of herpes. I'm always there, and I just happen to flare up from time to time. Looking forward to rekindling our friendship, you ol' pole smoker you. ;)

Your trinity won't last long, as the 35L II is probably very near, and old versions do not count.

[just kidding :p]

I won't be able to sleep tonight, I ordered today (for saturday/tomorrow delivery) an 85L 1.2 II

Now I'll have

35L, 85L and 135L ...

I also have the 185L and in the next 2 weeks the 14L II

Canon makes a 185L? You already said you have the 85L. Happy collecting expensive lenses.
