Can't see Classifieds: Buy

The thread about the changes (https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php​?t=1406871) says that you now need 180 days AND 100 posts to even view the Classifieds section. I'm bummed, as a habitual lurker who finds the answers to my questions before I need to post and who is not knowledgeable enough to be able to answer questions as well as others on the forum. I wish there were a way to grandfather some people in. Oh well, guess I need to start posting more!

This has happened to me on another forum, but I it's weird that the changed affect users who has already been buying and selling.

I just thought that maybe some of us would be grand fathered or maybe for new users.

Hit by it as well. Have been frequenting here for 8+ years... Doesn't make sense that I start posting a bunch of "love that pic" fluff in an effort to be re-admitted to the marketplace.

I guess I better start posting...wow I agree it seems crazy to have to start over. Its christmas...cant find that great deal for myself. lol

I've been a member of the forum for years now and have over 30 posts but I cannot see the "Buy" or "Sell" forums. What could be the problem?

I understand and agree with a desire to do something about the scammers. I have seen reported issues with sellers who've been scamming, but can't say I have seen a case where a buyer was doing the scamming... maybe just limit sellers to the 100 posts??

OK, that answers my question about why I cannon see the Buy or Sell sections. Like others, I need to lurk less and post more. Have bought a number of things here, and sold several cameras and lenses in the past couple of months, and now will have to wait until I have 100 posts.

I don't post a lot, but I do read a lot of posts. I've been on here a year now. It seems a bit odd to require more posts to use the Marketplace. Maybe they will fix that for those of us who have been here a while, but don't have 100 posts yet.

I guess I am in the same boat. I have been a member for almost 10 years now, purchased multiple items but very rarely post and am now locked out from the B&S posts. Have recently been looking at 500mm lenses, guess I will have to stick with fredmiranda for that for now as I feel a bit more comfortable on the photo sites rather then ebay. Only 55 more "fluff" useless posts from me to get to my 100.

At least sale prices will go down here now, since less people will be buying
