If you can find a Y1 box grab it, better ratios and cable clutch :)

Needs a better final drive ratio for sure but I'm not 100% sold on the cable clutch. I sold a kidney in the UK recently to buy an AP clutch master cylinder...and a pile of other stuff.

I never had a problem with mine, and gave it a pretty hard time.
The only problem you would have with a Y1 is finding one in good condition. They only came out on the first gen B16a and most are long gone.

The later boxes are also a little stronger, but the ratios are more suited to street driving and economy.

But the PITA changing the mini from hydraulic to cable isn't worth the hassle for me.

...yes but. A lot of stuff is 'off the shelf' (Frame, suspension etc). And I found an engineer and he say Yes!

Thanks. Yes, I'm pleased with the result. My previous attempts ended in abject failure because I could never get a smooth, natural-looking transition. I finally learned how to use luminosity masks, and gave it a try. This is made up of three images: 5min, 2min, 30sec (if I recall correctly).

Hey we have been noticeably upgraded! First major forum visual change since I joined over 10 years ago!

Anyway, got a question someone here might be able to answer without me digging through the wider forum.

Video, been messing around with this on my 6D, but hit a snag, it seems that the camera goes to a form of full auto in movie mode stopping the lens right down and adjusting the ISO for light variation, yesterday that was f/22 on the lens I was using, instead of isolating the subject I got everything in focus between the subject and almost to infinity.

I tried locking in the ISO, but no go, aperture adjustment not possible either, seems the same on most modes except manual. In manual control was returned to me but I had exposure issues on a bright sunny day.

The only way I think I can get what I want is in full manual with a ND on in ISO100 on a bright day, obviously a different combo in different lighting conditions.

Yip, if you want to shoot video wide open in the sun and retain a smooth frame rate you have to use an ND filter.
If you want the hobbit effect you can always shoot at 1/100th, but moving beyond that makes things look a little to sharp and crisp for people.
So 1/50th or 1/60th is the norm.

Dependon how you have live view set up, the camera may automatically adjust the live view feed for exposure, since it's this feed that the video is taken from, it needs to be showing true exposure.
Not sure what mode that is on the 6D, but it does trip people up on the 5D.
